5 minutes

NOTE ON FLEXIBILITY:

Teachers may prefer to allocate 2 or more 45 minute sessions to this module, to allow students more time to respond online and re-watch videos. This would be particularly relevant, if additional, longer-term projects were determined as useful to consolidate and share knowledge and findings in the wider community.

ONLINE CLASSROOM TASKS

1.

Ask the Topic 1 questions above and listen to responses.

Students will probably say 'yes', and some children may even want to share their worries. Listen briefly and then say, sometimes worry can be avoided or 'managed'.

If something is shared that sounds like it needs follow up, do this later with the student and take any necessary action - as per child safety guidelines.

2.

Watch and discuss one (or both) of the following videos:

Video 1 - Managing worry & anxiety for kids

Video 2 Fight Flight Freeze - A guide to anxiety for kids
